Listyfy.ie is a classified advertising platform operated in Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data processed through this service.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: email address, display name, location, phone (optional)
  • Post data: listing title, description, photos, price, location
  • Messaging data: messages between buyers and sellers
  • Usage data: pages visited, search queries, device/browser information
  • Payment data: processed securely via Stripe (we do not store card details)

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

  • Contract: to provide the classifieds service you signed up for
  • Legitimate interest: fraud prevention, service improvement, analytics
  • Consent: marketing emails (opt-in), cookies beyond essential
  • Legal obligation: tax, regulatory, and law enforcement requests

4. How We Use Your Data

  • Operating the classifieds platform and facilitating transactions
  • Sending transactional notifications (new messages, alerts)
  • Trust Score calculations from buyer/seller reviews
  • Search indexing with Meilisearch for relevant results
  • Content moderation and enforcing community guidelines

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active plus 12 months. Posts are automatically removed 60 days after expiry. You may request deletion at any time.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure: request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Restriction: limit how we process your data
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest
